Anna Marie Pia's Story

Life My husband and I reside in Southern California with our three girls. My parents and my family moved to California in 1981. I continued my college education at CSUN and received my BS in Biology and an AA in Accounting. My husband and I had three beautiful girls. Our eldest is Angela who is 20 1/2 yrs old, then Tiana who is 18 1/2 yrs old, and finally Krysta who is going to be 16 1/2 years old. Joe's a Real Estate Broker, and Profesional Recording Engineer who has produced many high profile musicians. I'm an accountant. I love my life as being a wife, and mom. I really enjoy raising my three wonderful girls. My girls are excelling in school with straight A's, what more can a mother ask for. Angela traveled to 8 countries eight years ago as a U.S. Student Ambassador. My husband and I are very proud of our girls. I love sunny California, but I do miss family and friends in Illinois and the changing of the seasons. The memories with family and friends I made growing up will always be cherished and treasured by me. My high school years and the friends I made along the way will never be forgotten. My eldest daughter attends CSUN and my middle daughter is a Freshman in College. Angela wants to become an Art History Professor/ Archeologist. She was on the National US High School Honor Society while attending all 4 years in High School. She's been in the Who's Who Among America's High School Students for 4 years while in High School, and was taking A/P classes since sophomore year. She's incredible, and I am so proud of her. She was taking classes at the Junior College here in the San Fernando Valley after school (High School). Tiana is the straight A student also, was on the Principal's honor roll all four years, was in Who's Who Among America's High School Students, was a member of NHSS, and was on the Girls JV Volleyball Team at her High School for three years. She was given the MVP of the girls volleyball team during her Freshman year. She's the animal lover in this family, and wants to be the Medical Doctor in the family. I'm sure she will succeed in whatever she wants, because she the go-getter in the family. Tiana won't pass up any opportunity that comes her way. Krysta too, is an A student. She is on the Principal's Honor Roll at GHCHS, was Valedictorian for Nobel Junior High School. She was one of two people who gave the graduation speech in front of 7,000 people on that morning of graduation. We are so proud of her and her accomplishments. She loves volleyball also, and plays on the park team with 15-16 year old girls when she was only 12 yrs old. She's dynamite on the court. She is taken AP Classes in High School and is excelling in whatever she does. She is Vice President of the Red Cross Club at her High School. She is the recipient of the AEIOU Scholarship and was honored the distinguished privileged to attending the National Youth Leadership Forum on National Security in Washington, D.C. Which is given to a select group of the nation's top students. Fewer than 1% of all high achieving high school students are given this opportunity. We are so proud of her. She's the one who will probably be the attorney in the family. She's the level headed and logical one who sees the big picture all the time. She wants to go to UC Berkley, UCLA or USC and wants to become an attorney. I'm so proud of her. I...Expand for more
am very fortunate, and thankful for the brilliant and beautiful daughters I have. They truly are a gift that I will cherish and be proud of the rest of my life. When one starts a family you always hope, and pray that your children will be blessed with good health, love, and happiness. I thank God for all the good things that have happened in my life. My husband and daughters mean the world to me. I'm so thankful for them. As for me I'm the chauffeur, assistant volleyball coach, accountant, maid, mom, and wife who is always there for everyone. And I thought they said, "as the children get older it's easier." I'd like to meet the person, who said this. My job is never done..... I'm sure that I'm not the only one who feels that way. College I attended NIU in 1979, and I entered as a Medical Technology Major (Biology Major). I was a member of ASA sorority and I was DU little sister there. After 2 years of attending NIU my family moved to California. I waited 1 year and worked full time in a Hospital before I entered CSUN in CA. I entered with the intention of graduating with a dual major in Biology and Accounting. I was just privileged to be honored as a member of the Biltmore Who's Who of Professionals and Executives for 2008 & 2009. I am thrilled and touched with this honor that has been bestowed to me. I try to relax by knitting or crocheting blankets to release anxiety. I love to read and take long walks to clear my head. My hero was Mr. Zimek. He was a positive role model, mentor, and great human being. He made you believe you could do anything if you had the will. He wanted you to achieve whatever you set your mind to. Yes, my Freshman year at NIU I lived in a dorm for my 1st semester. Second semester I lived in the ASA (Alpha Sigma Alpha) House on Greek Row. I also was a little sister to the DU (Fraternity House). These were very good years with many friendships that were established. I enjoyed Greek life, and I loved doing things with the girls from the house. We had about 80 girls in the house at that time. NIU was a great learning experience for me, I grew up with very strict Italian parents. I grew up a great deal on my own, and with having strong morals and values and a great upbringing this helped in knowing what was wrong or right. Respecting oneself, and not conforming to what everyone else did was important to me in college. Going away to college helped me know who I was, and what I stood for. This was a great experience and I would recommend it to everyone. My current age is 48. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be old. I was so completely wrong. You're only as old as you feel....... My career aspiration would be that I would accomplish all that I wanted to do in life. I hope that I can be a mentor to someone, and that I will be remembered as someone who made a difference in someone's life. I want to help people achieve their aspirations. I believe that in this world we need to respect each other, and be happy with what we have in life. We need to take a look at how we treat our earth. We need to think twice about how we live and what we can do to make a difference in our global warming problem. I want my children, and their children, to enjoy this earth like I did. We owe it to them..... We all need to make changes in the way we live to make a big difference in this world.
